WINTER JAM 2008 TOUR SPECTACULAR WELCOMES CONNERSVINE TO LINE UP AS TOUR KICKS OFF TONIGHT

Connersvine NASHVILLE, TN.... 1/10/08....On the heels of their self-titled debut releasing nationwide in October, and another stellar season of football for the Indianapolis Colt’s, Connersvine, the duo made up of the punter for the Colts’ Hunter Smith, and songwriter Chris Wilson, has officially been added to the Winter Jam 2008 Tour Spectacular line up, kicking off tonight in Johnson City, TN (full list of dates below). The duo will perform one song each evening just before the headline act of MercyMe.

With comments like, “Connersvine busted up my misconceptions in a big way with this creative, delightful debut,” from CMC and Aspiring Retail also saying, “Smith and Chris Wilson, both grounded in years of young adult ministry, deliver a signature stamp of worship for today’s church,” the duo also recently hosted The Gospel Music Channel’s Front Row Live program, and look forward to being a part of Winter Jam this year. Winter Jam 2008 Tour Spectacular, Christian music’s largest annual musical tour, will hit 36 cities and features one of its most prestigious artist line-ups ever. All four of NewSong’s guests are currently in the top 40 national sales as reported by Nielsen SoundScan. The 2008 line-up showcases musical styles ranging from worship to rock to pop featuring multi Platinum selling MercyMe, sibling rock trio BarlowGirl, seasoned rockers Skillet, and American Idol’s Mandisa.

The 10-week tour launches January 10, 2008 in Johnson City, TN, and will conclude at The Sommet Center in Nashville, TN on March 16th hitting 19 states along the way. Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning, NewSong will host the high-energy event for the 13th consecutive year, which will feature special guest speaker Tony Nolan, the Xtreme sports Real Encounter BMX/Skate Team and Word Label Group sponsored Pre-Jam Party featuring pureNRG and Group 1 Crew.
